Hello and welcome to my site,

I am a professional portrait artist specializing in highly detailed oil protraits of dogs, cats and horses as well as the people who love them. My portraits are painted in oil using the finest materials available on a high grade acid-free hardboard. Although my studio is in Maryland I do accept commissions worldwide.

I studied fine arts at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I received a BFA. After living part of my life in the Scottish Borders observing wildlife, people and places I became inspired to paint portraits. This led to commissions and commissions have led to setting up my own business. My work is somewhat influenced by Edwin Landseer, George Stubbs and Andrew Wyeth with a smidgeon of Frida Kahlo.

Just like people, every pet deserves a portrait. For me, the ultimate (and traditional) way to honour a special person or pet is to commission a portrait to be painted. To own one is a treat. To give one as a gift is very special. Whoever the recipient is, you can be sure that over time it will become a cherished family heirloom to be passed down.
